This model by Blancpain in collaboration with Swatch pays tribute to the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms, the first true diving watch. The case and crown are made of Bioceramic in a deep blue shade. The word “Swatch” is clearly visible on the left outer side of the case. The metal dial is printed in several layers of colour that create a soft gradient. The hour indices, hour and minute hands and the bezel scale are treated with premium Grade A Super-LumiNova®, ensuring excellent legibility in the dark. The unidirectional rotating bezel in ocean-blue Bioceramic and the bio-sourced crystal have a protective coating against scratches.
The mechanical SISTEM51 movement is visible through the transparent sapphire crystal and shows illustrations of the Atlantic Ocean as well as a digital print of the sea slug Glaucus Atlanticus. Five inspiring inscriptions can be found on the back of the watch: “PASSION FOR DIVING – LICENCE TO EXPLORE – OCEAN BREATH – PROTECT WHAT YOU LOVE and IMMERSE YOURSELF”.
The NATO strap is made from recycled fishing nets removed from the sea, while the pin buckle and loops are made of Bioceramic.
