This model, a collaboration between Blancpain and Swatch, pays tribute to the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms, regarded as the first authentic diving watch.
The case and crown come in a vivid green and are made of Bioceramic. The “Swatch” logo is engraved on the left outer side of the case.
The metal dial is printed in several layers of colour to create a smooth gradient.
The hour indices, hour and minute hands and the bezel scale are coated with high-quality Grade A Super-LumiNova®, ensuring excellent legibility in the dark.
The unidirectional rotating bezel, also in green Bioceramic, has a scratch-resistant coating, as does the bio-sourced crystal.
The mechanical SISTEM51 movement is visible through the transparent sapphire crystal and shows an illustration of the Indian Ocean as well as a digital print of the sea slug Nembrotha Kubaryana.
Five inspiring inscriptions can be found on the back of the watch: “PASSION FOR DIVING - LICENCE TO EXPLORE - OCEAN BREATH - PROTECT WHAT YOU LOVE AND IMMERSE YOURSELF.”
The NATO strap is made from recycled fishing nets removed from the oceans. The pin buckle and loops are made of Bioceramic.
